Before now, in 2019, Manake launched BuyBdub, an online shop aimed at the local market, with the goal of being the go-to online shop for indigenous and organic products created in Africa. Despite her passion for online platforms, Manake has lamented the limitations of a local payment gateway, highlighting the lack of a nationwide payment switch that allows for simple transactions. A payment switch is a system that can connect to any POS system, automated teller machine (ATM), mobile payment system, and internet-based commerce portal to combine all electronic transactions and intelligently route them to one or more payment processors for authorisation and settlement.
