To launch the Social Enterprise Women Business Accelerator, the British Council Ghana and Social Enterprise Ghana have partnered together. The partnership is a two-month company accelerator for women-led social companies focused on companies with a strong positive social and/or environmental mission.
“We are delighted through this program to bring all these together by enabling women social-enterprises who are building their businesses despite the challenges of Covid-19 grow their businesses and their social and environmental impact” said Chikodi Onyemerela, Director of Programmes and Partnerships, British Council Ghana
Here Is What You Need To Know
- The initiative would make it possible for 50 women-led social enterprises to become more investor-ready, to connect them to investor partners and to help them gain access to financing.
- A needs evaluation of the companies may recognize deficiencies during the program that they need to resolve in order to become eligible for funding.
- Via immersive learning sessions, tailored coaching and professional support, the accelerator program will allow women to fill in the gaps.
- Sessions on developing their business model, proper bookkeeping and financial management processes, growth strategy and marketing, including customer acquisition strategy, will take participants through.
- Investor partners, including banks, angel networks and SME growth financiers, will also analyze and provide input and support for investment enterprises.
