Startups In Francophone West Africa Invited To Apply For “UEMOA Startup Tremplin” Contest

Startups from member countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) will be able to benefit from financial support to boost their activities by participating in the 2nd edition of the “Tremplin Startup Uemoa” competition launched on September 24.

According to a press statement from the UEMOA commission, the five finest startups will receive $25,000, $23,000, $21,000, $19,500, and $17,700, in that order. Each country’s top three startups will receive an $8,800 incentive prize.

The competition organized by the UEMOA commission in partnership with the UEMOA Regional Consular Chamber (CCR-UEMOA) and the National Consular Chambers (CCn) of UEMOA Member States, is open only to startups formally created after January 1, 2017 and active in the sub-regional space. It targets companies that use digital technology to help make the agro-industrial sector more efficient.

Overall, the UEMOA commission’s goal with this competition is to promote modern and innovative entrepreneurship while also supporting the activities of entrepreneurship support organizations in the sub-region, as indicated by -your.
The application period is available through October 25th, and applications can be submitted here. Applicants must first fill out an application form available in national consular chambers.
