Nigeria’s Rísé.ng Raises $150K Pre-Seed

Rise.ng, a Nigerian startup, has acquired USD150,000 in pre-seed funding ahead of its launch in the country.

Olawunmi Oyedeji founded Risé.ng in 2019. The startup’s goal is to improve service delivery by focusing on low-income earners, particularly artisans and sellers who lack access to digital/online knowledge. It generally provides its platform’s artisans/vendors with a dashboard that allows them to advertise and promote their services or products using a secure finance layout that makes payment simple and secure, while the user works with an authenticated vendor/artisan who is insured in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Risé targets small business owners and suppliers, particularly those that have little or no social media presence. Risé was inspired by ‘Try My Job,’ a reality TV show in which celebrities swap jobs with their fans for a day, providing a platform for small enterprises to exhibit their goods and services. Risé uses this to provide the best selection of artists and suppliers for anyone’s daily needs.
