12th African Orange Digital Center For Digital Training Of Young People Opens In Botswana


Orange has officially opened Gaborone, the 12th “Orange Digital Center”, an ecosystem entirely dedicated to the development of digital skills and innovation, in the presence of high political and academic authorities from Botswana, the management of Orange Botswana and members of the Orange Africa and Middle East Executive Committee.

After Tunisia, Senegal, Ethiopia, Mali, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Egypt, Jordan, Madagascar, Morocco and Liberia, it is in Botswana that the 12th Orange Digital Center of Africa and the Middle East is emerging.

Covering an area of ​​390m², it brings together the 4 strategic programs of the Orange group, namely: a Code School, a Solidarity FabLab digital manufacturing workshop of the Orange Foundation, an Orange Fab start-up accelerator, supported by Orange Ventures Africa and Middle East, the Orange Group’s investment fund.

All of these programs are free and open to everyone. They range from digital training for young people, 90% of which are practical, to support for project leaders, including the acceleration of start-ups and investment in them.

Operating in a network, the Orange Digital Centers allow an exchange of experiences and expertise from one country to another and offer a simple and inclusive approach to strengthen the employability of young people, encourage innovative entrepreneurship and promote the fabric local digital.

Officially launched, the Orange Digital Center in Botswana is fully operational and functional to host several training courses and digital events. In addition, Orange Botswana, in partnership with universities, will train students free of charge and deploy Orange Digital Center Clubs in certain universities, extensions of the Orange Digital Center in the regions.
