“It is with great satisfaction that Expresso Senegal and Zuri Health are launching together the health app under the name Zuri Health. This is a major innovation in the Senegalese healthcare ecosystem, allowing our company to once again contribute to the solution of the challenges the population faces in accessing a first-resort physician for guidance and referrals.” said Radi Almamoun, Acting CEO at Expresso Senegal.

Zuri Health claims that by combining technology with healthcare, they will be able to create value across the entire chain.

In Senegal, an Expresso customer just texts a phrase to 28008 to activate the service and begin chatting and consulting with a doctor by SMS. Patients will receive real-time and dependable responses from licensed doctors, as well as economical healthcare and safe and secured personal health data.

The majority of Senegalese users who do not have access to internet-enabled devices or cellphones will now be able to obtain first-level medical advice from competent medical specialists via SMS.

“We are very excited to be working with Expresso Senegal as our Telco partner in Senegal. At Zuri Health, we have taken into cognizance Africa’s unique challenges and offered medical consultation via SMS service to take care of the over 65% of the population without access to smartphones or the internet. Patients are now able to consult with a doctor from as low as 30 CFA franc. Our commitment to offering quality, affordable and accessible healthcare is the key reason we have partnered with Expresso Senegal.”- noted Ikechukwu Arthur Anoke, Founder

Zuri Health, based in Nairobi, Kenya, provides disenfranchised people in Sub-Saharan Africa with affordable and accessible healthcare through a mobile app, website, and SMS. This is accomplished by utilizing a vast database of medical professionals, pharmacies, laboratories, and diagnostic institutes.
