Africa’s Business Heroes Renews Calls For Applications From African Entrepreneurs
By June 7, it will no longer be possible to submit entries for the 2021 edition of the Africa’s Business Heroes competition. Thousands of entrepreneurs have already shown their interest in the competition, but an imbalance exists between the different sub-regions of the continent. To fill the gap, the organizers recently launched an appeal to entrepreneurs in these areas.
It concerns in particular those of Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Libya, Malawi, Mauritius, from Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa, Togo, Tunisia and Zambia. They are all invited to try to win a portion of the $1.5 million prize pool.

“We are delighted with the positive reactions we have received following our current call for applications. Given the challenges the world has faced over the past year, helping as many talented entrepreneurs as possible has become more important to us. We therefore want to offer entrepreneurs in regions that are still under-represented this opportunity. That of growing their business and telling their stories,” said Ms. Zahra Baitie-Boateng, Director of Partnerships and Programs within the ABH program.
