Egyptian Health-tech Startup, Bypa-ss, Raises $1m In Pre-Seed Round
Bypa-ss, an Egypt-based HealthTech and Health Information Management company, has raised $1 million in its newest fundraising round. Local and international investors led the Pre-Seed round, which included Magic Fund, Acuity Ventures, Launch Africa, Plug and Play, and other important VCs.
“With this investment coming in, we will be able to avail more features to our customers while maintaining our service level and growth momentum. Additionally, the company intends to use the funds to fuel expansion, perfect a high-end tech mobile app for patients to engulf and facilitate the information exchange between the stakeholders from different levels and sizes and capitalize on the company’s rapid growth,” Andrew Saad, CEO of Bypa-ss said.
Bypa-ss is currently looking to expand its client base and healthcare network, a process that is now possible thanks to recently obtained money, which coincides with the company’s recent rebranding.

A Look At What The Startup Does
Bypa-ss launched HealthTag in 2019, a platform for Health Information Exchange (HIE) that provides physicians with a free cloud-based clinic administration solution. HealthTag securely preserves medical records acquired from various healthcare providers and gives them to their rightful owner, the user, by connecting with a cloud database. Users can also get up to 70% off when paying out-of-pocket from Egypt’s best healthcare providers.

Bypa-ss began in Shebin El Kom, Menofia, and has now expanded to serve members all over Egypt. Bypa-ss was able to gather momentum and raise further angel funding after being expedited and financially supported by Falak Startups. It was able to expand across five cities in one year. Offering patients control over their health records while giving doctors and healthcare providers access to the full history of their patients.
