Infobip to Power Expresso Senegal Customer Communication with Whatsapp

This comes against the backdrop of mobile operators increasing adoption of cloud-based customer communication solutions, in no small part driven by the COVID-19 pandemic which stressed the need to make remote services available to subscribers. As one of the most popular messaging apps in the world, WhatsApp is widely used to connect brands and mobile users, and Infobip has been a launch partner of WhatsApp business messaging.

Combining WhatsApp with Infobip in-house developed Conversations cloud contact center solution gives Expresso Senegal a powerful tool to manage customer communications and multiple use cases, from technical support to sales and loyalty programs. Infobip to Acquire OpenMarket in $300 Million Deal

Infobip has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with Amdocs to acquire OpenMarket – a mobile messaging solutions company – in a deal worth approximately $300 million. The transaction is expected to close following regulatory approvals. According to Infobip, this acquisition brings together complementary regional footprints, merging OpenMarket’s scale in the US with Infobip’s strengths outside the US to process “more than 14 billion monthly customer interactions across the full range of communication channels, in more than 190 countries around the globe”.

The transaction comes just three months after the closing of Infobip’s first institutional investment from One Equity Partners, a private equity firm.
