Morocco’s Lacaisse.ma Secures Funding To Scale Its Points Of Sale Solutions

Lacaisse.ma, a key player in the digitization of local shops through its unique points of sale solutions, has secured funding from WitaMax, a company founded by Southbridge A&I and the Axxam Family Office.

Founded in 2016 by Said Belkhayat, a former tech consultant and Rim Benboubker, Lacaisse.ma has been delivering digital solutions for intelligent point-of-sale management, already conquering Casablanca’s restaurant chains with a base of more than 250 “sorted on the shutter” points of sale.

To date, the startup has 1,000 users scattered throughout Morocco’s main cities, and has a clear strategy “…to both rapidly expand throughout the country, and to export to more remote places, where demand is no less significant,” according to Said Belkhayat.

Additionally, the founders intend to provide managers, particularly restaurant owners, with an almost exclusive digital partner, as well as provide them with a 360 checkout that is “hassle-free.” They also intend to centralize and consolidate all the tools the business managers need to manage their customers as well as their activities on a daily basis (inventory and supply management, payment, reservation services or loyalty solutions, etc.).

Already the startup has roughly fifteen employees and is continuing to develop additional services to attract new clients, in addition to its regional development plan.

“We concentrated on establishing a solution to help our physical customers convert to a delivery model during the Covid era,” says Rim Benboubker, “via the launch of an aggregation platform for restaurant owners (lalivraison.ma).”
