Liquid Dataport Partners Angola Telecom to Improve Connectivity Between Angola and the COMESA Region

The Pan-African tech group, Liquid Technologies through its subsidiary Liquid Dataport, has entered into agreement with Angola Telecom, the leading fixed network operator in Angola to lay a new terrestrial fibre route between Luanda, Angola to Johannesburg, South Africa, via DRC, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The addition of this route to Liquid’s regional fibre backbone is a significant addition to its existing 110,000 km network, providing its regional customers’ access to high-speed connectivity at affordable costs.

Hon. The partnership between Angola Telecom and Liquid Dataport has also allowed us to enjoy seamless connectivity with other countries in COMESA and South Africa, supporting long-term growth in our economies”.

With this investment, Liquid Dataport and Angola Telecom have allowed organisations and people in Angola access to high-speed connectivity, offering numerous advantages and fostering direct commerce corridors. This route traverses through Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa.

While the route caters to the high demand from wholesale customers, Liquid Dataport has partnered with Angola Telecom to provide enterprises and SMEs in the country with access to high-speed connectivity and even direct connectivity to data centres in Johannesburg.

Liquid Dataport Launches First Terrestrial Data Superhighway Connecting Mombasa to Johannesburg

Liquid Dataport, a business of Cassava Technologies, a pan-African technology group, today announced it has launched the first terrestrial fibre connecting Mombasa to Johannesburg. This new route, including a breakthrough and unique fibre link across DRC between Goma and Kananga, provides multiple landlocked countries with extra redundancy, resilience, connectivity to numerous data centres and cloud resources, and, most significantly, an alternative option in the event of a subsea cable outage between Kenya and South Africa.

Investments on the Equiano sea cable and significant capacity on the PEACE and 2Africa undersea fibre cables together with its extensive terrestrial cross-border fibre brodband network ensures that Liquid’s customers benefit from low-cost international capacity landing on both the Kenyan and South African shores wherever they need it on the Continent.

Liquid Dataport Partners ICOSNET to Boost Business Productivity in Algeria

Leading African tech company, Liquid Dataport has entered into a partnership agreement with ICOSNET in Algeria as  part of Liquid’s ongoing One Broadband Africa partner programme to make connectivity and world-class products and services more widely available in Africa.

A business of Cassava Technologies, a pan-African technology group, Liquid Dataport’s partnership with ICOSNET, the only private ISP provider in Algeria, in a move that enables customers to access digital communication services offered by Liquid Dataport in Algeria. ICOSNET, which currently offers customers internet access services, unified communications services, cyber security, and cloud solutions, will now have access to Liquid’s world-class pan-African network for their clients’ connectivity needs.

Liquid Acquires Capacity on Google’s Equiano Cable

Liquid Dataport, a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies (formerly Liquid Telecom Group), has acquired a pair of fibre cables on Equiano, the new, Google-owned subsea cable connecting South Africa and Europe along Africa’s west coast.

It said the cables give Liquid access to bandwidth of 12Tbit/s on the new Internet cable, which will be ready for commercial service by the end of the year.

“The additional capacity augments Liquid Dataport’s existing pan-African fibre network, global satellite connectivity and subsea cable backbone,” the company said, adding that it expects the cable will lead to a reduction in Internet prices and an improvement of quality of Internet connections in South Africa and other markets in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Equiano subsea cable has landing stations in Sesimbra (Portugal), Lomé (Togo), Lagos (Nigeria), Swakopmund (Namibia), St Helena island and Melkbosstrand (South Africa).

The Equiano cable system will be available in all Africa Data Centres’ facilities and give Liquid Dataport’s customers access to vast amounts of capacity at a reduced price, the company added. (Africa Data Centres is also a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies.)
