Egypt’s OBM Education Raises New Round Of Funding
Egypt’s education startup, OBM, has secured a six-figure sum from EdVentures as part of its second round of funding.
“EdVentures’ new investment is quite strategic for our ambitious expansion plans,” said Omar El-Barbary, founder and CEO of OBM, “as we will use it to launch our new application; “Taleb” that will enable us to provide extended services for our users and to fulfil our mission of ensuring an exceptional career advising experience for Egyptian students.”
Commenting on the investment, Dalia Ibrahim founder and CEO of EdVentures said “We saw great potential in OBM as they cater to a huge population of students and undergrads, that’s why we were keen to have another round of investment in OBM to help them further expand and increase their offerings; thus helping more students and enabling them to make well-informed decisions about their future and to become job-ready.”
A Look At What OBM Does
Omar El-Barbary and Ezz El-Din Farag founded OBM in 2020 to help pre-university kids pick their college majors and to provide them with career guidance and training programmes. The startup offers such services through a variety of summits and programmes, the most notable of which is the Build Your Future Summit (BYF), which is attended by thousands of high school students and graduates, as well as the Education Stakeholders Forum (ESF), a regional summit that brings together key stakeholders from the government, universities, schools, service providers, and investors with the goal of improving the education sector in the MENA region.

OBM also provides specific programmes that connect students with top CEOs, who mentor them, provide them with real-world business experience, and assist them in deciding on their future routes. Training programmes on important employability and communication skills are also available.
EdVentures has supported tens of entrepreneurs in education, Edtech, and cultural innovations since its inception in 2017. It has invested in 13 firms that are among the largest and most influential in the MENA area. Through the deployment of cutting-edge technical solutions, those firms were able to assist improve the abilities of youngsters, enrich learning chances, and enable educational institutions to run more efficiently.
