Egyptian Edtech Startup, OTO Courses, Secures $400k Funding Round From EdVentures
EdVentures said that it had invested $400,000 in OTO Courses in cash funding and in-kind services in an effort to improve remote learning methods and support entrepreneurs in Egypt and the Arab world. The purpose of this investment is to expand the Egyptian company’s platform and services to a bigger proportion of customers, particularly middle and secondary school children, by providing educational programs in a range of areas/subjects. This, in turn, will have an impact on the pupils’ educational experience.
The funds will be utilized to improve the company’s platform and expand its services to a wider audience, particularly middle and secondary school kids, by providing educational programs in a number of areas/subjects.

A Look At What The Startup Does
OTO was founded in 2015 by Ahmed Badr and Tarek Nour with the goal of bridging the gap between traditional education and what the market requires by providing distance educational services via its electronic platform. This provides learners with a great deal of freedom in terms of selecting session dates that are convenient for them, as well as the ability to contact directly with lecturers.
OTO began by delivering English language lessons, and since then, it has offered 350,000 hours of online instruction to more than 15,000 students and employs more than 150 teachers and lecturers.
