Google Launches $4.1 Million In Financial Assistance To Startups In North Africa

Google has announced good news to businesses in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). The American tech giant will support them financially, to the tune of $4.1 million. Its purpose is to enable companies that benefit from it to improve their presence on the Internet.

Part of the funds, or $ 1.1 million, will be dedicated to improving the digital skills of companies as well as fortifying their online presence. The remaining $3 million will be distributed as loans, with $2 million dedicated to Egypt alone. A total of 1 million businesses and individuals will benefit from this support.

Google’s aid comes as MENA bears the brunt of the health crisis. Many companies are on the verge of bankruptcy, putting millions of jobs at risk. Google gives them the opportunity to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the increase in online consumption, driven by an increased presence at home.

Meanwhile, the Mountain View firm also raised the possibility of providing $9 million in advertising credits and grants to support businesses and governments in the region.
