Djamo is taking advantage of the mobile money boom to offer affordable and seamless banking services. The startup targets the 65% of French-speaking African adults who do not have an account. The company is the creation of Hassan Bourgi, an alumnus of redBus, and Régis Bamba, former Product Manager of the MTN group, Cote d’ivoire. The team saw the difficulty in accessing banking services in Côte d’Ivoire as a huge opportunity.

“From day one, we wanted to design a mobile-first platform that could break through into the masses and our combined experience in creating consumer products was very critical for the launch of Djamo,” said Bourgi the CEO of the young shoot.

Djamo offers varied and personalized possibilities, such as online payments for certain services (Amazon, Alibaba, Netflix, etc.) or the provision of VISA debit cards.

Users of the super-app are relieved of the stress of long waits at bank branches. They also benefit from a very attractive pricing policy. Today, Djamo’s customers number stands at 90,000. 50,000 transactions are also processed per month.
