Ghanaian Agritech Startups Invited To Apply For Israel-Ghana AgriTechAccel Program

Five promising Ghanaian agritech startups will be given the chance to learn from Israeli agritech specialists. The Israel-Ghana AgritechAccel project intends to benefit agritech startups by leveraging Israeli technology and product development skills. It is a joint project of the Israeli Embassy, Innohub, and the Pears Program for Global Innovation.

Shani Cooper, the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, said the project was intended to bring Israeli and Ghanaian agritech start-ups together to interact, learn from one another, and accelerate on a wider scale. “The second component of the partnership is bringing Israeli entrepreneurs to Ghana to learn from Ghanaian agribusinesses,” she explained.

The Israel-Ghana AgriTechAccel, a cutting-edge six-week program for post-pilot Ghanaian agritech start-ups, will take place from October to November 2021. Classroom sessions, participant-led workshops, and individualized mentor support will be used to assist participating start-ups in refining their innovations.

The selected participants will benefit from the following:

  • Israeli tech professionals and Ghanaian instructors provide tailored product development coaching.
  • Workshops on product fit, product architecture, user experience, and manufacturing/development at the highest level.
  • Opportunities to form partnerships with Israeli businesses in a comparable industry.
  • Investment partnership network.

Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be considered:

  • AgriTech startup with an existing product or service.
  • Existing B2B-targeted tech product with products on the market or in the post-proof-of-concept stage.
  • Prior participation in a business acceleration program is a plus, but it is not a prerequisite.
  • Demonstrate a distinct product development objective.
