Startup Nest Graduates Latest Cohort Of Startups In Tunisia

The closing ceremony of the Startup Nest Demo Day program came to a close in the Tunis suburb of Gammarth. Startup Nest is the result of the collaboration between Wiki Start Up, the NGO SPARK and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

“Startup Nest” is an incubation and support program for young people with the idea of structuring and management of their ventures, team training, technical support, and mentoring, all through specialized cohorts.

The successful entrepreneurs were assisted by entities involved with the program throughout the incubation phase set up under this program. This made it easier for idea carriers to get their products to market and raise money.

A total of 14 startups were selected under this program, 4 in the field of FinTech and 10 in the field of Agritech. The selected entrepreneurs were the subject of an incubation phase through comprehensive and personalized support oriented around various training courses and activities.

As a result, the selected entrepreneurs were given training in areas that increase market access in order to help them advance in their careers. They got the chance to meet and pitch significant stakeholders in the Tunisian and international entrepreneurial ecosystems, as well as investors, in the hopes of getting finance or fundraising.

Startups are now part of the Start Up Wiki network, which allows them to be labeled and thus recognized on international matchmaking platforms, as well as gain some credibility with other mechanisms, all through the use of their Business Plans.
