Inauguration Of The 9th Orange Digital Center In Madagascar

To train young people in digital skills and strengthen their employability, Orange and German cooperation are inaugurating the 9th Orange Digital Center in the Middle East and Africa in Madagascar. This initiative aims to promote access to ICT jobs for women and girls while supporting the country’s sustainable growth and digital transformation.

After Tunisia, Senegal, Ethiopia, Mali, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Egypt and Jordan, it is now in Madagascar, in Antananarivo, that the 9th Orange Digital Center in Africa and Middle East is inaugurated. Covering an area of ​​800 m2, it brings together the 4 strategic programs of the Orange group, namely: a Code school, a Solidarity FabLab digital manufacturing workshop of the Orange Foundation located at the University of Antananarivo, a start-up accelerator -up Orange Fab, supported by Orange Ventures, the Orange Group’s investment fund.

Operating in a network, the Orange Digital Centers allow an exchange of experiences and expertise from one country to another and offer a simple and inclusive approach to strengthen the employability of young people, encourage innovative entrepreneurship and promote the fabric local digital.

Orange Madagascar, in partnership with certain universities in Madagascar, has agreed to install two Orange Digital Center Club, extensions of the School of Code within the University of Fianarantsoa and the University of Antsiranana, thus completing the system to offer as many people as possible access to new technologies and help them make full use of them.

“The objective is to democratize access to digital technology for young people, graduates or non-graduates, to give them access to the latest technological skills to strengthen their employability, and to prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow”, indicates Alioune Ndiaye, President and CEO of ‘Orange Africa and Middle East. This program is part of an innovative approach that will provide access to digital technology for everyone.
