South African Fitness Management Platform Octiv Raises New Funding From Knife Capital
The South African sports and fitness facility management platform Octiv has received Series A investment, according to an announcement by Knife Capital, a venture capital firm that invests in innovative businesses. The sum invested was not made public.
The money will hasten Octiv’s international growth. More than 60,000 active clients, mostly in Europe, are served by the firm, which has been in operation since 2014.
“We are pleased to support Mark Fawzy, Managing Director of Octiv and his team […] We have identified the potential of Octiv and its continued aim to become a leader in the development of fitness software,” said Keet van Zyl, founder of Knife Capital.
Octiv had raised startup money from a group of South African angel investors before receiving this most recent round. The platform that intends to assist gym owners in running their operations digitally has plans to use these financial resources to hasten its growth, enhance its products, and increase sales in order to add additional gyms to its portfolio.

With 230 million exercise installations globally, the global fitness business is estimated to be worth $96 billion by Knife Capital. One of the favoured markets for fitness is Europe. Octiv, a company with a presence in this area, might benefit from this to expand its clientele there.
Octiv’s growth in the British and European markets will also be supported by Knife Capital, which has offices in South Africa and the UK.
