FinMeUp, a South African financial education startup, has raised an undisclosed sum of money to help it develop its financial education platform and add new services.
FinMeUp, a gamified software created by Higgo van Biljon, was introduced last year with the purpose of taking users on a journey from education to execution, whether they are entrepreneurs or investors.
In less than a year, the business has amassed 7,000 active users on its pilot platform and acquired an undisclosed sum from ZAQ Ventures as part of its seed round. The money will be used to improve the present product, add new features and partnerships, and launch FinMeUp Wealth, a new platform.

“New features were put on hold while gaining insights from the co-creating community, which has grown to 18,000 members and reached 50,000 unique users per month, to understand where the biggest gaps in their financial journeys are,” van Biljon said.
“FinMeUp’s incentive-based financial learning to execution platform allows users to experience a full-time trusted financial advisor, but also helps you execute on your decisions.”
