Talabat Mart Egypt Gets Sekkina Mohammed As New Head In Strategic Moves To Scale

Mohamed Sekkina has been named the new General Manager of talabat Mart in Egypt, according to talabat, a leading technology platform in online food and grocery delivery in the MENA region.

Not only will we shape the future of quick commerce in Egypt, but we started it back in March 2020. Why Sekkina Was Appointed

  • Sekkina has a proven track record of success, having led the launch of talabat Mart in Egypt and Oman in 2020, as well as leading the company’s business operations in the UAE, before serving as interim Country Manager for the past 5–6 months, during which talabat Mart’s sales in the UAE increased by more than 55 percent.
  • In his new role, Sekkina’s strategy focuses on delivering an exceptional grocery delivery experience, supporting geographic expansion ambitions, and improving dark stores to better suit the needs of new and existing consumers.
  • According to Sekkina talabat Mart, the company presently has a product assortment of roughly 5,000 items, with plans to expand to over 8000 items in the near future, particularly in the fresh produce sector. Sekkina went on to say that the process of picking products by pickers within the dark store takes less than two minutes, and that the selection accuracy is 99.9%, implying that the chances of receiving missing or incorrect things are extremely low.
  • Talabat Mart is currently operational in the following areas: Alexandria, Mansoura, Tanta and Cairo (Hadayek Al-Ahram, Helwan, 6 October, Ibrahimia, El Tagamoa, Giza, Hejaz, Rehab, Al-Shorouk, Sheikh Zayed, Obour, Maadi, Mokattam, Hadayek El-Kobba, Sidi Beshr, Shubra, Ain Shams, Nasr City, Madinaty, El Haram, Heliopolis and Downtown Cairo).
  • In terms of expansion, talabat Mart will open stores in Ismailia, Port Said, and Zagazig in the following months, with the goal of doubling the number of dark stores by next year, from the current number of more than 30.
