Flat6Labs Picks Six New Startups For The Third Round Of Ignite Tunisia Project

Flat6Labs, the leading seed venture capital firm in North Africa and the Middle East, has hosted a three-day bootcamp for 13 support startups from around Tunisia as part of its Ignite Tunisia project. The participants attended workshops, mentorship sessions, and group and individual pitches over the course of these days, with the goal of providing an overview of the proposed support program and honing their presentations and proposals for support programs before they went before the selection committee.

“Through the Ignite Tunisia project, we are committed to contributing to the development and decentralization of Tunisia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, thereby providing entrepreneurs in the regions with access to support that is more tailored to their needs and specificities,” said Yehia Houry, Managing Director of Flat6Labs Tunisia.

For its third cycle, more than 67 support startups from 17 Tunisian provinces applied to the Ignite Tunisia project in order to profit from the initiative and leverage Flat6Labs’ experience. It was a committee comprised of experts from the entrepreneurial ecosystem that was tasked with the delicate task of selecting six support structures to participate in a four-month program that would allow them to develop and structure their program, while leveraging Flat6Labs’ tools and extensive network of experts, mentors, and investors.

Flat6Labs’ goal with this initiative is to instill a regional dynamism in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and to decentralize skills and knowledge in the industry.

Mohamed Ridha Idrissi, head of Innovi-EU4Innovation grants at Expertise France, testified in this context: “The Ignite program is a true regional integrator of the Tunisian ecosystem.” We can attest to this by the high quality of the projects submitted. Additionally, it serves as a catalyst for opportunity access and community development. Congratulations to the structures for their participation in the bootcamp and to the selected”.

Three sponsored structures were able to get finance during the first Hub Day conducted in September, a day of meetings with investors and donors, and three programs were established during the two prior cycles, with more than 45 coaching sessions and more than 65 individual weekly sessions. It should be underlined that assistance for prior cycles’ structures continues, with professionals recruited to assist them in deploying their initiatives as effectively as feasible.
