Big Cabal Media, which publishes TechCabal, a technology-focused publication, and Zikoko, which gathers information centered on African culture and youth, attracted a group of investors led by MaC Venture Capital as part of this fundraising.

According to Proparco statistics, which was published in a February 2022 article, digital media, which is part of the culture and creative industries, received barely 1% of all money invested in African start-ups in 2019.
