Much Like In Tunisia, Orange Fab Cameroon Startup Accelerator Is Now Live

Orange Cameroon has inaugurated the first season of its Orange Fab startup acceleration programme, with the goal of attracting innovative companies and encouraging local entrepreneurship.

This announcement follows a request for proposals from October to November 2021 for start-ups in the following fields: health, agriculture, and transportation, to which 51 companies responded.

Orange Fab Cameroon Startup Accelerator

Following a preliminary round of pre-selection, 6 startups presented to a jury of Orange Cameroon specialists on May 25, 2022 at the Orange Digital Center premises to convince them of the extent of their product.

What is Orange Fab?

Orange Fab is a network inside the Orange Group that accelerates startups and innovation.

This is a programme meant to help new businesses expand faster.

This completely free programme seeks to help selected start-ups optimise their product or service, increasing their turnover and visibility in the Cameroonian market while also participating in the planning of their development strategy.

Which startups were selected?

For the first edition of the Orange Fab Cameroon program, the 3 selected startups are as follows:

OuiCare — Health sector

OuiCare is a digital health record and patient data archiving system.

It allows individuals to have access to their medical information at any time and doctors to have a linear reading of the state of health of their patients as well as their medical history for rapid patient care.

Mapane — Transport sector

Mapane is an application for the anticipated management of road traffic.

Among other things, it allows users to be informed of the state of road traffic; alert on unhealthy areas and provide the location of people wanting to share their position.

ClinicAgro — Agricultural sector

ClinicAgro is a connected kit for soil analysis and orientation of crop choices as well as a mini mobile and digital laboratory for plant and soil analysis.

What is the content of this acceleration program?

As a result, the three startups are currently receiving six months of free acceleration, which includes:

  • Financing of start-up operational activities up to 5 million FCFA
  • A business audit is followed by tailored coaching and mentorship.
  • Possible collaborations with Orange Cameroon Contacts with possible partners and investors
  • Media communication on their operational activities.

Thus, Orange Digital Center Cameroon reaffirms its commitment to Cameroonian entrepreneurship.
